Colonial Office Victoria, Hong Kong, 7 July, 1849
His Excellency The Governor in Council having been pleased to accede to Mr Duddell's application to be allowed to purchase from the Government the 2 Coolie Stands in Victoria, for the sum of £45 each on the terms proposed in his letter, I am directed to authorize you to hand over to him the Buildings, sufficient security being previously taken for the full payment of the £90, within the period stated by Mr. Duddell.
His Excellency is further pleased to direct you to allot to Mr Duddell the quantity of ground required by him with each of these Buildings, and to charge as Chas: Abeo: Cleverly, Surveyor General.
